It's a competition where it's not necessary to do the model with python or R, here the submission is important.           "content": "<p>This is true for all code competitions. There are other competitions where you can generate a submission on your computer. For those, Matlab (or anything else that can output a csv file) would work. OTTO is one such competition where you generate the submission on your computer in technically you should be able to use Matlab for it.</p>",

      "content": "<p>The problem is with the submission -- you need to generate a submission using a Kaggle notebook.</p>\n<p>The way this competition is set up is that you can train your models wherever you'd like, but you need to upload them to Kaggle, so that they can be run on a test set you don't have access to.</p>\n<p>You create a notebook that gets the data mounted during evaluation. And the notebook needs to be written in Python.</p>\n<p>I am not sure how complex it would be to use Matlab models from Python, but I don't think this is a plausible approach to this competition.</p>",
