"content": "
Does anybody know what that vertical line which appears in many images is?
\n
I was wondering if we could use it to crop images and only work with the section where the breast appears. This way we might get rid of unwanted image sections, thus accelerating training and at the same time avoiding some misclassification. For example, if the vertical line separates the breast from the remaining background of the image.
\n
I do not know if a CNN would look into black backgrounds to classify images, if you have any insight on this please leave your thoughts in the comments. Maybe using GRADCAM might clarify on this matter.
",

The challenge will be determining where the line is and if the breast is to the right or left of the line. I've seen competitions where some competitors have trained a small object detector which then later use to crop the interesting regions.
",
