Privacy Policy for Free Movie

Introduction

Welcome to Free Movie, a Chrome extension designed to help you discover the latest movies, TV shows, and animations. At Free Movie, we value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your data when you use our extension.

Information We Collect

Free Movie collects minimal data to provide a personalized experience:

• Language Preference: We use Chrome’s local storage (chrome.storage.local) to save your preferred language (e.g., English or Persian) to customize content display.
• Non-Personal Data: We fetch movie, TV show, and animation data from The Movie Database (TMDb) API and a backup API hosted at zxcode.ir. This data is publicly available and not linked to your personal information.

We do not collect, store, or share any personally identifiable information (such as your name, email, or browsing history) unless explicitly stated in this policy.

How We Use Your Information

The data we collect is used solely to enhance your experience with Free Movie:

• Language Preference: To display movie, TV show, and animation information in your chosen language.
• Content Delivery: To fetch and display the latest entertainment content from TMDb and our backup API.

Third-Party Services

Free Movie relies on the following third-party services:

• The Movie Database (TMDb): We use the TMDb API to retrieve movie, TV show, and animation data. TMDb’s privacy policy can be found here.
• Backup API (zxcode.ir): In case TMDb is unavailable, we use a backup API hosted at zxcode.ir to ensure service continuity.
• Google Search: The extension allows you to perform searches via Google. Any search queries are sent directly to Google and are subject to Google’s Privacy Policy.

Note: The TMDb API key used in Free Movie is publicly accessible within the extension’s code. We recommend users exercise caution, as this is a public key provided for development purposes.

Data Storage and Security

Your language preference is stored locally on your device using Chrome’s local storage. We do not store any data on our servers or share it with third parties, except as noted in the “Third-Party Services” section. We take reasonable measures to protect the data stored locally, but no system is completely secure. Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their devices.

Your Rights and Choices

You have full control over the data stored by Free Movie:

• Clear Storage: You can clear your language preference by resetting Chrome’s local storage or uninstalling the extension.
• Opt-Out: Since we collect no personal data, there is no need to opt out of data collection. Simply uninstall the extension if you no longer wish to use it.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
